Hi I’m Tess Carlson. I am a senior at Hellgate High School
and a rider and trainer at Flying H arena. Ever since I was
three I have loved horses. After I begged for my first pony
my parents realized it wasn’t just a faze, I was devoted. I
have been jumping, learning dressage, and competing for most
my life and endeavor to continue on through college.
As an
active member in Pony Club I have recently received my HB, a
new higher level rating based on horse management. Currently
I am training my 17 hand thoroughbred, Talouse, as a show
jumping prospect. In addition to training I also teach and
have acquired over the years a vast amount of experience.
Being a member of Pony Club I have learned how to manage
both ponies and small children while creating a fun and
productive lesson. It is important to me that all my
students not only learn and progress on the horse but also
around them. I believe that horse management is a necessary
aspect of riding therefore I teach each student the basics
of horse care, including grooming, tacking up, English
riding concepts and simple veterinary knowledge. I
specialize in show jumping and dressage and will teach
beginner to intermediate riders, all ages no experience
required. Give me a ring and I will introduce you to the
classy style of English or help to bring you further along
the path to upper level riding.
I am available for lessons all year long and have a fairly
flexible schedule. To schedule a lesson please call Flying H
Stables at 406/543-RIDE (7433).
